FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the machine building and can be used in the devices connecting the rotor, and at least one journal bearing, that can be both non-reversible, and reversible. Such devices can be both gas and steam turbines, compressors, centrifugal pumps etc. Operation method of the journal bearing includes oil supply to the inserted parts of the journal bearing and in tanks that are in the casing of the journal bearing, rotator rotation, movement interlock of each of inserted parts in any direction of rotation, movement of each of inserted parts to the thrust disk of the rotor, that interacts with the surface of each of the inserted parts, during the rotor rotation, assurance of oil flowing in both straight and reverse directions from the tanks or in the tanks.
EFFECT: increased operation life of the journal bearing and increased mechanical load on the journal bearing by means of use of the method of radial oscillation dampening of the rotating shaft, using the inserted parts on the hydrostatic suspension of the journal bearing, to damper axial oscillations of the rotating rotor, and improvement of the method of dampening of the rotating rotor oscillations using the inserted parts on the hydrostatic suspension of the journal bearing.
