FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: this device can be used for friction welding of compacted or rolled thin-wall semis of unlimited length from aluminium alloys. Welding tool is secured at the case with the drive of translation along horizontal surface of welded elements. Mechanism for case positioning relative to welded elements and their locking is composed of roller pair arranged vertically or inclined and articulated with the case for joint displacement over vertical surfaces of welded elements that make the guides and horizontally directed roller pairs rigidly secured at said case to rest on horizontal surface of welded elements. One of said roller pairs is arranged ahead of welding tool at the angle to direction of its motion. As guides can be used outer ends of welded elements, stiffness ribs and abutting surface of welded elements.
EFFECT: reliable locking of welded edges in welding, ruled out angular deformation and crosswise shifts.
