FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method of obtaining of ultradispersed powder of complex tungsten and titanium carbide comprising the mixing of tungsten and titaniferous components with the carbon source, pressing of the obtained powder and subsequent carbidising. Neutralisation down to pH 0-2 of water solution of ammonium tungstate in presence of the soot taken in amount of WO3:C = 1:4 (in terms of oxide), and neutralisation down to pH 10-12 of water solution of titanil sulphate in presence of the soot taken in amount of TiO2:C = 1:3 (in terms of oxide). The obtained rainfall is mixed and carbidised by processing by microwave radiation with the frequency 2450-3000 MHz at the power 700-1200 W in argon current with the flow rate 5-6 l/h in three stages: with the speed 15°C/min. up to 500°C; with the speed 10°C/min. up to 700°C and with the speed 5°C/min. up to 1100°C with conditioning at the final stage within 20-30 min. and the subsequent processing in vacuum 10-3 mm hg at the temperature 1350-1400°C within 50-60 min. Tungsten carbide to titanium carbide ratio - WC:TiC = 90-50:10-50.
EFFECT: invention allows to obtain ultradispersed powder of complex tungsten and titanium carbide with the size of particles less than 300 nanometres.
