FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy. Nano-sized powders can be used for making tools in hardness and wear resistance approximating to diamond-based tools. In compliance with first version, proposed method allows production of nano-sized powder of tungsten carbide. Mix of tungstic acid H2WO4 or ammonium paratungstate (NH4)10W12O42·nH2O and glycerin C3H8O3 taken in stoichiometric ratio is heated. Obtained precursor is annealed in atmosphere of inert gas at 1100-1050°C and held for 1-2 h. In compliance with second version, proposed method allows making of nano-sized powder of cemented tungsten carbide WC-nCo(Ni), where n equals 5-10 wt % of total composition. Mix of tungstic acid H2WO4 or ammonium paratungstate (NH4)10W12O42·nH2O, cobalt formate Co(HCOO)2·2H2O or nickel formate Ni(HCOO)2·2H2O glycerin C3H8O3 taken in stoichiometric ratio is heated. Obtained precursor is annealed in atmosphere of inert gas at 1100-1050°C and held for 1-2 h.
EFFECT: simple and reliable process.
