FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for producing tungsten cobalt-doped oxide doped, which can be used as a photocatalyst active in the visible light range. Method for producing tungsten oxide doped with cobalt of the composition W1-xCoxO3 (0.01 ≤ x ≤ 0.09) involves obtaining a reaction mixture containing an aqueous solution of cobalt chloride hexahydrate and tungstate hydrate, adding a solution of hydrochloric acid, separating the precipitate and drying. Ammonium paratungstate hydrate of the composition (NH4)10(H2W12O42)·4H2O is used as tungstate hydrate, taken with respect to the cobalt chloride hexahydrate of the composition CoCl2·6H2O in the molar ratio in terms of metal W : Co = (0.99-0.91) : (0.01-0.09). The reaction mixture is subjected to hydrothermal treatment at a temperature of 160-200°C and an excess pressure of 360-617 kPa for 20-26 hours.
EFFECT: proposed method is simple and technologically advanced and provides the production of tungsten cobalt-doped oxide doped with a significant reduction in the band gap, which leads to an increase in the photocatalytic activity of the material when irradiated with visible light.
