FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a device for control of measurement of the consumption of the fuel supplied to an aircraft engine; with that, measurement is made by means of a mass flow meter. According to the invention, assessment of compliance with at least the following conditions is performed: a signal supplied by the flow meter is lower than the specified value (e1, 40); the engine operates independently (e2, e3, 40). The measurement is considered to be invalid if these conditions are met simultaneously.

EFFECT: improving reliable determination of flow meter failure.
