SUBSTANCE: invention relates to flowmeters and, in particular, to a tool for determining optimum operating parameters for a differential flowmeter system. Method includes the steps of: inputting the hardware specifications relating to the flow meter to the computing device and input hardware specifications relating to the return metering device to the computing device. In addition, the method includes the step of inputting system parameters to the computing device. Accuracy of the system is calculated with the help of system logic, while the system logic accepts input data, based on the hardware specifications related to the flow meter, the hardware specifications relating to the flow meter, and the system parameters. Calculated accuracy of the system is stored on a computer-readable data carrier, and the calculated accuracy of the system is output.
