FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and devices for treatment of different types of liquid hydrocarbon fuels prior to their combustion, and can be used in feed systems of turbine jet, gas turbine engines, internal combustion engines, in Stirling engines, and in other power units, for example, in burners of boilers and electric power plants etc. Under this method of combustion efficiency increasing of the hydrocarbon fuel the frequency of AC low voltage (10-600 V) on electrodes is changed, and frequency of uniform electric field generated in fuel transversely to the fuel flow is selected such that at this frequency the dielectric losses in the hydrocarbon fuel are maximum, and tangent of angle of dielectric losses tgδ will be also maximum. At that frequency of variable electric field inverse to time of relaxation of the excited by electric field molecules in fuel is selected, and hydrocarbon fuel is treated by the electric field prior to its supply to the injector.

EFFECT: improved parameters of droplets creation at output of the fuel injector, creation of fine fuel-air mixture, intensification of the combustion processes of the fuel-air mixture, reduced level of toxicity of the output combustion products, increased economy of fuel consumption.
