FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at the possibility to measure flammable gas in the mixture with nitrogen or other inert gas. The method consists in the fact that an electrochemical cell is placed into a flow of analyzed flammable gas, where the cell contains a cavity formed by tightly connected two discs from solid electrolyte, on the opposite surfaces of one of which there is a pair of electrodes, voltage is applied to electrodes, necessary to receive limit current, flowing through the cell, by the value of which they determine concentration of flammable gas in the analyzed gas mix. At the same time they use the cell with the cavity formed by discs from oxygen-conducting solid electrolyte with electrodes from catalytic material, to generate limit current, DC voltage of 300-500 mV is applied to electrodes with supply of the positive pole to the electrode inside the cell, and by the value of the limit current arising at the same time they determine concentration of flammable gas in the analyzed gas mix.
EFFECT: invention provides for the possibility to quite simply and reliably measure content of various flammable gases in a mix with nitrogen.
