SUBSTANCE: invention relates to seals. The labyrinth packing to seal the ring space between the rotor and stator of the and steam or gas turbine has multiple sealing straps, located successively in axial direction, secured to the stator and projecting to space, where the sealing straps interact ensuring sealing effect, with sealing elements projecting from the rotor side, located in staggered order. Use of such labyrinth packing ensures increased sealing effect by means of the sealing straps, installed in cold state, shifted relatively to the symmetrical position, where shift has opposite direction and same distance, for which the sealing strap moves relatively to the adjacent sealing elements projecting at rotor side, as result of the thermal expansion of the fixed and rotated components, and support structure during heating from the cold state to hot stable work state.
EFFECT: improved design.
