SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a device for displaying data of a multi-colour bitmap image on a point matrix display screen. Raster is formed using a controlled array of electromechanical elements, which enable to display black-and-white, three primary additive and corresponding secondary colours of the RGB colour model, as well as brightness and saturation thereof with levels determined by display resolution. A correction array of optical elements and an additional light-emitting array are used. The mechanical and optical arrays are controlled using the same current-conducting lines of a single array control system. Elements of the mechanical array are divided into types according to possible alternating of colour sides and into complementary subtypes according to the direction of alternation of colour sides and the direction of change of sides, which are merged into final dimension groups, through the periodic construction of which the full raster is formed.
EFFECT: low power consumption and high operational efficiency when forming and displaying raster information of large and very large formats.
