FIELD: computer equipment.

SUBSTANCE: display device has a display panel and a color filter layer spatially distant from the display panel, having an array of color filter sections. In confidential mode, display panel generates output areas of different color of light output, wherein the areas are aligned with the corresponding color filter layers of the color filter layer. In the public mode, the display panel generates light containing all output colors in all output areas. Due to spatial removal of color filter layer from display panel, color filtration is used to control range of angles, within which an image is output. Color filter layer is substantially separated from the display panel. Spatial gap between them and the width of the color filter sections determine the degree to which the angular direction of the light output is restricted. Using the color filter to implement the privacy function simplifies the design and fabrication due to the fact that the structure becomes based on a simple multilayer structure.

EFFECT: technical result is improved efficiency of display device.
