FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of obtaining water-absorbing polymer particles by polymerisation of monomer solution drips. Monomer solution contains at least one ethylene-unsaturated monomer, which has acid groups and can be at least partly neutralised; at least one cross-linking agent; at least one initiator and water. Polymerisation includes passing concurrent gas flow through polymerisation chamber. Temperature of gas, leaving polymerisation chamber, constitutes 130°C or lower. Temperature of gas inside polymerisation chamber constitutes at least 0.5 m/s. Drips are created by means of drip-forming plate. Distance between plate holes constitutes from 10 to 50 mm. Also described are water-absorbing, agglomerated polymer particles, liquid-absorbing products.

EFFECT: obtaining water-absorbing polymer particles with higher bulk density, narrow distribution of values of particle diameter, several smaller planes instead one big plane, excellent mechanical stability, as well as excellent dosing properties.
