FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: gear box contains a casing with oil bath, in it at least one tooth-wheel of the gear is immersed. From outside the casing has cooling ribs. Area of ribs of the casing walls along its perimeter as per plot plan is made variable from maximum to minimum is directly proportional to change of the heating degree of these walls upon the gear box operation.
EFFECT: reduced weight and size of the gear box.
