FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: claimed process comprises the steps that follow. Radar detects vehicles moving to crosswalk at the distance of up to 200 m. Space-time coordinates of detected vehicles are intermittently measured. Radar data on the amount of detected vehicles and their space-time coordinates are transmitted to controller incorporating the computer. Controller computes braking path and interval of detected vehicles ahead of zebra crosswalk. Controller actuates the acoustic annunciator to warn pedestrians on crosswalk about vehicle running without braking with insufficient braking to 100 m ahead of crosswalk and deactivates it after vehicle runs by said crosswalk.

EFFECT: decrease in road accidents at zebra crosswalk.
