SUBSTANCE: iron (1) is proposed, comprising a water tank (16), made with the ability to store liquid water, a heated soleplate (20), at least one opening (24) for water discharge, a unit (30) for spraying and distribution of water, made with the ability to spray water from the water tank and the distribution of atomised water to at least one opening for water discharge, at least one sensor (40, 42) made with the ability to control at least one variable of motion of the iron and generating a reference signal indicating the said variable, a control unit (50) operatively connected both to the unit (30) for spraying and distribution of water and at least one sensor (40, 42), and made with the ability to control the speed of water discharge from at least one opening (24) for discharging water by controlling the operation of the unit of spraying and distribution of water according to the reference signal generated by the at least one sensor.
