FIELD: textiles, paper.
SUBSTANCE: steam irons with a steam valve which is controlled by comfortably actuated usually turning handle, may not provide a permanent regime of steam ironing due to the force applied to the handle by the user may change over time. To eliminate or reduce this problem, the present invention provides a steam iron (1) comprising a bypass channel (9) around the valve (7) actuated by the handle. The bypass channel provides the supply of relatively small, but constant water steam from the container (6) for water in the steam outlet openings (12) in the soleplate (11) of the iron.
EFFECT: subject to the sufficient water supply the steam iron provides a minimum comfort when steam ironing during the steam ironing.
