SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of providing adaptive user notifications. The method may include detecting an event. The method may also include determining usage of one or more connected devices. The method may further include determining a notification method for notification of the event based on the determined usage. The method may include generating an event notification message based on the determined notification method. The method may further include facilitating the transmission of the event notification message to a connected device to trigger the connected device to provide an alert indicative of the event in accordance with the determined notification method. Corresponding devices are also provided.
