SUBSTANCE: passively mode-locked fibre pulsed ring laser comprises optically coupled pumping radiation source, fibre ring resonator having an amplifying fibre, a fibre spectral information module, a polarisation-dependent splitter, a polarisation-dependent insulator, first and second fibre ends which do not reflect laser radiation back to the fibre. First and second collimators are placed between the fibre ends. All fibre elements of the resonator support radiation polarisation. Between the collimators there are two radiation focusing optical elements, between which, at the laser radiation beam waist, there is an optical element with Kerr-type nonlinearity, having thickness greater than 0.5 mm with laser radiation transmitting surfaces, having an angle of inclination to the laser resonator axis of not less than 1 degree.
EFFECT: enabling generation of short-pulse radiation with a low noise level in a wide spectral range.
