FIELD: electrical communication engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be used for RGB displays. For this purpose, the broadband red light generator is configured with a single-mode pulse ytterbium (Yb) fibre laser pumping source emitting pumping light radiation in the main mode with a pumping wavelength which is selected from the wavelength range of 1030–1120 nm. Proposed generator additionally comprises a single-mode fibre combination transducer connected to the output of the ytterbium fibre laser source. Combination transducer induces Stokes n-th-order frequency shift of pumping light to produce pumping light of pumping with desired combination-shifted wavelength, which varies in range of 1220–1300 nm and is characterized by wide spectral line of at least 10 nm. Disclosed light generator further comprises a single-pass second harmonic generator (SHG) with a nonlinear optical crystal of lithium triborate, characterized by such a width of the spectral susceptibility line, which is sufficient to cover a wide spectral line of pumping light radiation. SHG generates single-mode pulsed red light with wide spectral line of at least 4 nm.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of quality of broadband signal generation.
