FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: sample in the form of a constant cross-section rod with pivotally attached ends is subjected to longitudinal bending to a given flexure/tension value, followed by heating the sample under constant flexure while measuring change in axial force, and heating temperature. In order to plot a thermomechanical curve and determine the initial transition temperature Tit, the glass transition temperature Tg and α-transition temperature Tα, longitudinal loading of the sample is carried out to a flexure/tension values which prevent breakdown thereof in the investigated temperature range, which correspond to 0.05-0.1 times the breakdown flexure/tension of the sample, and in order to determine heat resistance, longitudinal loading is carried out to flexure/tension values which guarantee breakdown of the sample in the investigated temperature range, preferably 0.1-0.5 times the breakdown flexure/tension, wherein heat resistance of the sample is determined as temperature at which it breaks down.
EFFECT: high reliability of obtained results, enabling determination of the complex characteristic of the polymer composite material - heat resistance thereof.
