FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: mode of shock pulse excitement simultaneously of all parallel connected phases by the pulse currents i from the high voltage pulse generator HVIG is created by excitement of test pulse interturn voltages equal to EMF of self-induction of the sections e = -Ldi/dt. Automatically the directions of currents in each phase are changed so that they coincide in the upper and lower layer of each groove two times with three phase connection diagrams. All grooves with the maximum level of the pulse magnetic field created by through (main) pulse current, invariable along each phase by triggering of electronic memory cells of these grooves are fixed. Two grooves with minimum levels of the pulse magnetic field are fixed which contain the upper and lower sides of defective section with turn fault, by no triggering of two electronic memory cells of the respective grooves.

EFFECT: increase of labour productivity during tests and accurate detection of turn faults in stator windings, expansion of the scope of application.
