FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing calcium formate includes reacting crystalline calcium carbonate with formic acid, separating and drying the end product, wherein calcium carbonate is added to an 11-12% aqueous formic acid solution in portions at a rate of 10-50 g/min with an interval of 10-30 minutes between portions at 25-40°C, wherein the formic acid is used in 10-20% excess of the stoichiometric amount, after which the reaction mass is boiled off and cooled while stirring, followed by filtering out the precipitated end product, washing with saturated aqueous calcium formate solution which is purified in advance, pressed and dried at 80-90°C.
EFFECT: obtaining highly pure calcium formate and an advanced method for production thereof.
