FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing barium formate. The method is the interaction of a crystalline barium salt used as barium nitrate, and sodium formate, isolation, washing and drying of the target product. The interaction is carried out at a mass ratio of sodium formate to barium nitrate in the initial mixture in the range from 54:46 to 61:39 wt.%, respectively. The selection of the target product is carried out in the temperature range of 20–25°C. After separation of crystalline barium formate, crystalline sodium formate is introduced into the remaining mother liquor, while sodium nitrate is separated, which is separated by filtration, and after separation of sodium nitrate, crystalline barium nitrate is introduced into the mother liquor.
EFFECT: synthesis of barium formate in a cyclic process.
