FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of mineral salts, in particular calcium formate, and can be used in existing chemical plants. Process for the preparation of calcium formate is carried out by reacting a compound containing a formate ion and a calcium salt, isolating, washing and drying the desired product, where sodium formate is used as the compound containing a formate ion, a mixture of calcium chloride and calcium nitrate in the form of a mother liquor of potassium nitrate is used as the calcium salt.
EFFECT: simplification of the process associated with its carrying out under milder conditions, the possibility of using the initial salts in both crystalline and dissolved form, the possibility of obtaining sodium chloride and/or nitrate, the absence of gaseous products.
