SUBSTANCE: invention is used in electrical engineering. According to the method the first action is the identification (S1) of the electric plug (6) receptacle used for the electric device (7) on the basis of change of the parameter detected on the lead (2) of the power supply module (1) or on the basis of the identification signal which is transmitted through the connection (11) of the alarm system relating to the power supply loop (5) from the electric plug receptacle (6) to the power supply lead (2) of the power supply module (1). Then the logical address of the identified electric plug receptacle (6) is associated (S2) with the respective power supply lead (2) of the power supply module (1). The electric device (7) connected to the identified electric plug receptacle (6) is controlled or monitored (S3) on the basis of the associated logical address of the identified electric plug receptacle (6).

EFFECT: ensuring flexibility and simplicity of associating the switching processes with the switching devices.
