FIELD: structural monitoring.

SUBSTANCE: each of the control sensors installed on an extended structure is made in the form of a magnetostrictive strip adapted for generating elastic vibrations in the body of the test object in the form of a directed torsional wave, which provides compression and stretching of the body of the test object and changing the size and position of defects in it; together with a torsional wave with the help of generators of acoustic signals and ultrasonic pulses, acoustic low-frequency vibrations and ultrasonic pulses are generated, which, using sensors, convert ultrasonic pulses into mechanical low-frequency pulses for modulation and ultrasonic pulses for determining the location of the defect vibrations and directed towards each other, which, when passing through defects in the test object, which change their size and position under the influence of a torsional wave, are modulated and reflected in the form of echo pulses; an oscillogram is formed from the generated and received signals and the type of defect, its size and location are determined.

EFFECT: reliable remote monitoring of the state of extended structures.
