FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geocryology, particularly to methods of producing ice-melting reagents for various applications, primarily for preventing and removing ice from landing strips and taxiways of aerodromes in different weather conditions. The ice-melting composition consists of potassium acetate, potassium formate and water, and additionally contains urea. Ice melts in the temperature range of -28…-75°C.
EFFECT: ice-melting composition has the following properties: high capacity for melting ice and ice coating in any weather conditions, prolonged action, low cost and good environmental properties.
