FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: crystalline facies of pleural fluid is made by dropping pleural fluid on clean dry degreased microscope slide in quantity 10 mcl with further drying for 24 hours, microphotographing and morphometric analysis. In the course of morphometric analysis measurement of the general diameter of crystalline facies, thickness of peripheral zone and radius of central facies zone, degree of crystal branching is performed and integral coefficient of pleural fluid C is calculated by formula. In case if C is between 0.49-1.81 exudative pleurisy at the background of lung cancer is diagnosed, if C is 1.82-4.5, tubercular pleurisy is diagnosed, if C is 4.51-12.4, exudative pleurisy at the background of non-specific pneumonia is diagnosed.

EFFECT: application of claimed method makes it possible to carry out differential diagnostics between tubercular pleurisy, exudative pleurisy at the background of non-specific pneumonia and pleurisy at the background of lung cancer with high reliability.
