DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR PRECLINICAL STAGE OF HUNTINGTON'S DISEASE Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B5/476

Abstract RU 2567264 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: quiet wakeful electroencephalogram (EEG) is recorded in a patient with his/her eyes closed. An absolute power spectrum of standard theta bands and narrow frequency one-hertz sub-bands is determined. A relative power spectrum of narrow frequency one-hertz sub-bands 7-8 Hz and 4-5 Hz are also determined, and a difference thereof is derived. A relation of the absolute power spectrum in the band of 7-8 Hz to the absolute power spectrum in the theta band is calculated, and if the difference of the derived value is ≤-1, whereas the calculated relation tends to decrease ≤20%, the preclinical stage of Huntington's disease is diagnosed.

EFFECT: technique enables providing the more reliable diagnosis of the early stage of the disease that is ensured by taking into account the narrow frequency sub-bands of electrical cerebral activity.
