FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. Electroencephalogram (EEG) is recorded before treatment and the indicator of the spectral power of the theta activity in the derivations F8 and F7 relative to the reference combined ear electrode is determined. Ratio of the values of the indicator F8 to F7 is calculated, the natural logarithm of this number is determined and multiplied by 1,000. If the value of the obtained indicator is less than 190, the treatment is considered to be justified.
EFFECT: method allows to increase the reliability of indications for the effective treatment of amblyopia, which is achieved by means of the use of neurophysiological indicators.
