FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing multilayer coatings based on polyelectrolyte microcapsules, which contain biologically active materials, for use in diagnostics and medicine. The method includes a step of forming polyelectrolyte microcapsules having a core made of a composition of at least one biologically active substance and a shape-generating component. The next step includes depositing a first polyelectrolyte multilayer on a glass substrate and then depositing an intermediate layer of microcapsules on the first multilayer. A second polyelectrolyte multilayer is then deposited on the surface of the microcapsules to form, together with the first multilayer and the intermediate layer of microcapsules, a multilayer coating. In order to increase the maximum activity of the biologically active materials used, the shape-generating components are removed from the inner volume of microcapsules by positioning the substrate with the multilayer coating such that the substrate occupies an upper position relative to the multilayer coating, which allows molecules of the dissolved shape-generating component to exit the microcapsules not only due to diffusion, but due to gravity as well. The inclination of the substrate to the horizontal surface is selected in the range of 0 to 90 degrees.

EFFECT: said multilayer coatings can be used to analyse biological materials, for example, blood and urine, and to determine biologically active compounds in environmental science, food industry and agriculture.
