SUBSTANCE: method relates to distribution of cigarette packs in accordance with the position of cigarette filters in them. On the outside surface of each pack there is a detectable indicator the position whereof on the pack relative to the filters of the cigarettes in the packs is predetermined; packs are supplied in the form of the first flow of packs moving along the conveyor in the direction of the indicators detection section where the position of the indicator on each pack is determined; then the packs are distributed depending on the position of the indicator detected thereon with the help of drive means controlled so that to account for information on the indicators position obtained from the detection section. Packs distribution consists in division of the first flow of packs into at least two individual flows. The device for the method implementation contains a detectable indicator on the outside surface of the pack, the indicator position relative to the filters of the cigarettes contained in the packs predetermined. The device additionally contains at least one conveyor 6 whereon the said packs are serially transported, an indicator detection section 8 ensuring the possibility of determination of the position of each pack being transported and drive means 12 for packs distribution that consists in division of the first flow of packs 7 into at least two separate flows controlled so that to account for information on the indicators position obtained from the detection section 8.
