FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: present invention is related to the area of electric engineering, and namely to reverse voltage inverters of alternating current into direct one with possible faults such as short circuit or circuit opening, and to control methods of such inverters. A voltage inverter comprises: - load (1) having three phases (2, 3, 4), at that each phase has the first contact (5, 6, 7) and the second contact (8, 9, 10); - the first and second cells (12, 13), each of them containing three arms connected in parallel, at that each arm comprises two in-series switching facilities (Q1/Q4, Q2/Q5, Q3/Q6, Q7/Q10, Q8/Q11, Q9/Q12) and the midpoint (20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25) between two switching facilities (Q1/Q4, Q2/Q5, Q3/Q6, Q7/Q10, Q8/Q11, Q9/Q12), thereat each first contact (5, 6, 7) of each phase is connected to one midpoint out of the midpoints (20, 21, 22) of the first cell (12), and each second contact (8, 9, 10) of each phase is connected to one midpoint out of the midpoints (23, 24, 25) of the second cell (13), - voltage source (11), at that each of the first and second cells is connected to a direct-current source through electric insulating facilities (Q13, Q14, Q15, Q16).
