SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be used in MIMO systems. The invention discloses a method (700, 900) and a transceiver (10, 12), which employ a factored precoder structure. A full precoder (36) is formed from a conversion precoder (32) and a setup precoder (34). There are 2NT conversion precoders (32), each comprising a block-diagonal matrix having two or more columns with blocks on the matrix diagonal, wherein each block comprises a precoder (38) of DFT-based antenna subgroup which corresponds to a subgroup from NT transmitting antenna ports (98) in a transceiver (10) and provides 2NT different DFT-based beams for the corresponding subgroup, and wherein all of the 2NT different conversion precoders (32) are reusable, along with one or more setup precoders (34), for creating a set of 2NT different full precoders (36), wherein each full precoder (36) is a DFT-based beam measuring NT by NT transmitting antenna ports (98).
