FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises counting the number of stomata of winter soft wheat on the underside of the leaf surface of the flag leaf on an area of 1 cm2 of each variety of winter soft wheat in the five-fold repetition. And the stomatal factor is calculated, that enables to evaluate the drought-resistance winter soft wheat varieties in a particular phase of ontogenesis, according to the formula: Ks = N - N1xHTCx0.01, where Ks is stomatal factor; N is long-term average annual number of stomata of winter soft wheat; N1 is the number of stomata of winter soft wheat in a certain phase of ontogenesis; HTC is hydrothermal coefficient in a certain phase of ontogenesis; 0.01 is a constant component. The more or less the stomatal factor deviates from zero, the more or less the drought-resistance is pronounced: with the negative stomatal factors the varieties of winter soft wheat are non-resistant to drought, from 0 to 10 - low-resistant, from 10 to 20 - average-resistant, from 20 to 30 - highly resistant.

EFFECT: method enables to increase the yield of varieties of winter soft wheat in the conditions of slope microzonality.
