FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method involves evaluating similar sorts simultaneously on watershed fields and on fields disposed on sloped areas of various steepness; using for evaluation values of changing winter hardiness depending on ground relief, said value being expressed in percents, by counting amount of live plants per 1 m2 during growing period, said value being calculated from formula: H=(W-S):W·100%, where H is winter hardness, W is amount of live plants per 1 m2 on watershed, S is amount of live plants per 1 m2 on slope; considering four winter hardiness groups: highly resistant group if 3<15%, medium resistant group 3=15-25%, resistant group 3=25-35%, and low-resistant group 3.35%. Counting is performed on watershed areas, sloped areas having steepness of 1-3 deg, and on areas with steepness of 3-5 deg.
EFFECT: increased winter hardiness of sort and provision for revealing adaptive capacity of plants under various agroecological conditions.
