FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: optic fibre is placed in mechanical connection with a monitored object, and optical pulses are generated with duration T. Photodetection of optical radiation scattered in inverse direction is carried out, and signals of a photo current are divided among virtual distance channels. Values of photo current signals amplitude are determined, and their correction is carried out with account of the detected noise level. The device realising the method comprises optic fibre, a pulse source of laser radiation, a splitter or a circulator with optic fibre. A unit of noise level assessment in each signal and subsequent correction of amplitude is made in the form of a photodetector connected to the splitter or the circulator, connected to a calculator via the analogue-digital converter of the photo current signal.

EFFECT: increased reliability of monitoring results by balancing of sensitivity along virtual distance channels, which is expressed in reduction of probability of false actuations during detection of vibration effects or increased probability of proper detection of such effects.
