FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method is based on determination of changes of electromagnetic field parameters in flow of analysed liquid medium when its component composition changes, liquid flow in zone of measurement is divided into multitude of isolated flows, each of which interacts with electromagnetic field resonator via isolated area of contact surface, as a result of which in resonator formed is electromagnetic field, which generalises influence of all isolated flows of liquid, parameters of which are taken as weighted average for totality of flows in isolated channels and compared with respective indices of product-analogue, possessing known properties, which can be empirically identified as part of water in mixture with hydrocarbon liquid.

EFFECT: provision of possibility to increase hydrometer efficiency and increased accuracy of determination of water content in oil, pumped by pipeline.
