FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: initial composition is prepared by mixing powder-like hydroxides of alkali and/or alkali earth metals with organic polymer and solvent. Moulding of obtained suspension with removal of solvent is realised. Mixing of initial components is realised with weight ratio of hydroxides to polymer equal 70÷95/30÷5, quantity of solvent in mixing constitutes 10.0-30.0 cm3 per 1 g of polymer. After moulding and drying compacting is realised with connection of at least two chemosorbing elements with their butt end surfaces. After connection of chemosorbing elements processing of contact place either by thermal impact at temperature 45-95°C, or by exposure of contact place to superhigh frequency field is carried out. After that, wetting of obtained product with water or potassium or sodium hydroxide solution is performed.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to obtain quasimonolithic chemosorbing elements of large size, which possess improved exploitation characteristics.
