SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing a carbon dioxide adsorbent for use in respiratory protection equipment. The method includes forming a dispersion of alkali-earth metal oxides and/or alkali metal hydroxides and/or alkali-earth metal hydroxides and depositing the dispersion on a sheet base. The dispersion is formed by mixing alkali-earth metal oxides and/or alkali metal hydroxides and/or alkali-earth metal hydroxides with a film-forming polymer and a volatile organic solvent. The dispersion is deposited on a sheet base. The solvent is removed from the obtained composition. The obtained adsorbent sheets are treated with aqueous potassium or sodium hydroxide solutions until the content thereof in the adsorbent reaches 2-6%.

EFFECT: method improves the performance of the carbon dioxide adsorbent.
