FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: device contains base with secured on it pole and platform, on which drive of shaft rotation and axial movement is installed, samples loading assembly and loading force measuring system, disk reference sample, shaft with installed sample holder, friction force measuring system. As test sample the cut out template of hardened wheel flange after plasma treatment is installed, it has thickness 10-13 mm, as reference sample roller is used, it is made out of rail steel with diameter 40 mm and width 6 mm.

EFFECT: increased authenticity of results of estimation of tribotechnical characteristics of wheel flanges, this will ensure economic feasibility of the selected mode and process of surface hardening of the wheelsets, and reliability during operation without decreasing of the rail operability.
