FIELD: lubricants.
SUBSTANCE: testing of antiscuffing and antifriction properties of lubricants used as an assessment of the efficiency of operation of structural and lubricating compounds. The device contains a frame with an electric motor placed on it, with the possibility of bringing the shaft into rotation, with a counter-sample installed at its end in the form of a ring, to which, due to the radial force created by the lever loading system, the sample placed at the end of one of the levers of the loading system and made in the form of a cylindrical roller or a parallelepiped, with a bearing assembly located in the lever, which provides the possibility of axial movement of the sample in the direction and under the action of the friction force applied to it from the side of the counter-sample, and a force-measuring sensor. Between the end surface of the sample and the body of the lever, in which the sample is placed, on the side opposite to the direction of action of the friction force applied to the sample, there is a gap that compensates for the thermal expansion of the sample caused by friction in the direction of the line of this force action. The device additionally contains a smooth loading system that ensures the creation of a radial force on the friction unit through the lever system and consists of a series-connected stepper motor, gearbox, clutch, as well as a force-measuring sensor that registers the radial force on the friction unit, with a screw pair and support bearings.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of experimental evaluation of extreme antiscuffing and antifriction properties during testing of lubricants and structural materials.
