FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: actual size of drop moving in airflow is measured. Note here that fluid is sprayed in air while aerosol flow is directed to microscope lens focal plane illuminated by laser emission. Drops illuminated by laser are recorded by microscope video system composed of separate tracks, each in width makes the drop size while in length varies with exposure duration and drop motion velocity. Drop size is evaluated by track width with due allowance for measuring rule image created at the same magnification that aerosol drop track photos are made at. Drops illuminated by laser output the tracks in video images, each in width makes the drop size while in length varies with exposure duration.

EFFECT: simplified process, higher accuracy of measurements.
