FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diagnostics, particularly diagnosis of weakly luminescent particles in processes of depositing powder coatings through cold gas-dynamic and detonation spraying. The device has an emitter which is optically connected to a focusing objective lens and a video camera with a projecting lens. The emitter used is an arc-discharge lamp with an elliptical mirror, a focusing attachment and a spherical mirror, which is optically connected to the emitter, where the centre of curvature of the spherical mirror coincides with the focus of the elliptical mirror, as well as an optical trap.

EFFECT: provision for detection of tracks with simultaneous widening of functional capabilities of the device due to diagnosis of the flow of particles and provision for detection of parametres of cold and weakly heated particles, as well as reduced cost of the diagnostic equipment.
