FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to physical chemistry and can be used in production of biologically active additives, preparations for mild anticancer therapy, contrast agents in clinical diagnosis and cosmetics. The method includes first mixing a volume of a saturated solution of an initial fullerene in an organic solvent, the fullerene solubility of which is greater than 5 mg/ml, with an equal volume of distilled, bidistilled, ultrapure or deionised water. The obtained mixture then undergoes ultrasonic treatment in a vessel with wall thickness of not more than 3.5 mm for 250 hours with electrical power of the ultrasonic disperser of 0.3 kW. Organic solvent residue is removed by boiling the obtained aqueous solution for 15 minutes. Undissolved fullerene particles removed by subjecting the obtained aqueous solution to successive double filtration using a Schott filter with micropore diameter of 0.45 mcm and microporous filters with diameter of 0.20 mcm. The initial fullerene used is C60, C70, a mixture of C60 and C70 or C84 fullerene.As the organic solvent toluene, benzene, 1,2-dichlorobenzene, 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene (methylbenzene) are used.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain highly concentrated aqueous dispersions of fullerenes in water, control concentration of fullerene and residual content of the organic solvent.
