FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic chemistry and nanotechnology and can be used in producing water-soluble derivatives of light fullerenes with L-amino acids. Method comprises preparing a mixture of sodium hydroxide and a proteinogenic amino acid of the L-series in a water-ethanol mixture, adding to obtained solution of light fullerene adduct C70 or C60 in solvent toluene or o-xylene, stirring reaction mixture for 7 days, removing solvents from the obtained mixture using a rotary evaporator, dissolving the obtained precipitate in distilled water, stirring for 2 hours, followed by filtration and neutralization with 0.1 M HCl solution to pH = 7-8, followed by distillation of water from solution to 1/10 of the volume and purification by dialysis against distilled water.

EFFECT: disclosed method enables to obtain adducts of fullerenes with amino acids with high output and reproducible chemical composition.
