FIELD: ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: claimed process comprises heating the pin for tempering at 5-10 mm from the barrel end to 890-910°C by HF currents. Note here that the barrel is revolved with the chamber purging with inert gas at gas flow rate of 0.35-0.41 m3/h. For barrel air cooling, it is turned over to be set at tempering appliance with its breech directed downward, on the heated pin. Tempering is combined with stabilising tempering of the barrel chromium-plated bore in resistance furnace with two thermal zones at top zone temperature of 420-450°C.
EFFECT: higher pin contact surface quality.
