FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: initial workpiece is subjected to machining and thermal treatment to obtain pipe billet with lead-in and drive parts at ends. Said pipe billet is subjected to preliminary reduction to form mid barrel forged piece with smooth bore. Then, inner chamfer for barrel cartridge chamber is made at drive part end face. Then, smooth bore surfaces are subjected to electrolytic chromium-plating and heating. Heating temperature is lower than or equal to that of forged piece material tempering. Chromium plated forged piece is subjected to final radial reduction to produce fields and rifles of barrel guide part, its bullet cone and cartridge case. Then, forged piece is machined to produced finished barrel.
EFFECT: lower labour input, higher quality.
