FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: device for generation and modification of magnetic filed in field of view having the first spherical or linear subarea with low intensity of magnetic filed and the second subarea with higher intensity of magnetic filed comprises at least three pairs of the first coils. The coils are placed in loop around the field of view or at uneven distances from the centre of the field of view, at that two coils from each pair are placed at opposed sides of the field of view, at least one pair of the second coils placed at opposed sides of the field of view at open sides of the loop, current signal generator for feeding the first and second coils and control unit to generate current signals for selection field to feed the first coils so that at least three pairs of the first coils generate gradient magnetic selection field having spatial configuration of the magnetic field intensity so that in the field of view the first subarea and second subarea with higher intensity are formed and current signals of excitation field to feed the second coils and two pairs of the first coils are generated so that at least one pair of the second coils and two pairs of the first coils generate uniform magnetic excitation field in order to change position of the two subareas in the field of view in space. Device for image acquisition by means of magnetic particles comprises a device to generate and change magnetic field in the field of view. Magnetic field generation and modification method consists in stages of operation with the generating device.

EFFECT: usage of the invention allows increase in efficiency of scanning and reduction of power losses.
